Man's unhappiness, as I construe it comes of his greatness. It is because there is an infinite in him which with all of his cunning he cannot quite bury under the finite. - Thomas Carlilse

Welcome to our blog! It has been a long time coming and we are excited about offering a few words on things which seem important to us - and hopefully to you!

This will be a place where we will think about life, God, and questions which we hope will be helpful to spur your hope. Our intent will not be so much to solve problems as to give voice to questions. Voicing questions, forming our doubt and the mystery of our hope is serious business and does not come easily. French romantic artist, Eugene Delacroix said, "What moves men of genius, or rather what inspires their work, is not new ideas, but their obsession with the idea that what has already been said is still not enough." The genius of Delacroix may be shown in the way in which he so masterfully acknowledged something which we all know and fear - we have much more to say and our saying adds to the whole (more perhaps on this thought later).

So here is our little effort to say a little more, rejoice that it is “still not enough”, and in the doing spur our thinking and hoping and living toward the Author of all Truth.

We are excited as to what might come of this. We hope that what is written here will provoke, entice, confuse, clarify, name and encourage your deepest parts. Feel free to comment on what is written - question, argue, whatever.

As I read your blog I find comfort in your words. No surprise there. So I am glad you are saying more. I am intrigued by Delacroix's quote. I have found myself unsettled, even worried, that I have turned the corner of 40 and yet still want more. Not more "stuff", quite the opposite. More conversation, more depth, more hope that there is indeed one who created us for, ...well, more. Here's to more, more Truth, more hope, more voice to what we were created for!

freely I offer 'whatever'....funny thing I noticed - when I clicked the 'read more' link I was thinking 'I will still want more', more than you wrote....then I read the rest of this entry and Amy's comment and sure enough....I want more. And that is a good thing.

LC used to say that if he had one sermon to preach before he died, it would be, "there is more".

What you have said reminds me of 'The Preacher's' words in Ecclesiastes 3:11..."He has also set eternity in their heart...". We were made to know there is something more.
Thank you for having this blog. I love the deep thoughtfulness of it.
